The big local debate

We have been on fortnightly refuse collections for a while now in my home town. There’s a lot of people complaining that the collections aren’t often enough. I never have a problem, my wheelie is rarely full. Why? Because we recycle as much as we can. I was amazed how much cardboard we generate every fortnight. And its bulky. So outsort your recyclables and problem solved!

Hybrid cars

Anyone out there got a Lexus RX400h? I bought one to reduce my emmissions, which I think I am achieving, but the fuel consumption is not as low as I was led to believe - I’m doing c. 30.5 mpg, thought I’d be getting nearer 35mpg. Silent reversing is the best - stick it into reverse and you are as silent as an owl!

Post number 1 - hopefully of many to come!

Welcome to FootprintFriendly’s eco blog, where like minded individuals can share ideas and actions to help reduce carbon footprints, and preserve our planet for our children and their children.

Have you seen “An Inconvenient Truth”? Al Gore, so eloquent, so intelligent - how did he get beaten by Bush? Incomprehensible. The documentary is a wake-up call to us all - essential viewing.
